Serengeti Sopa Lodge is located on the south-western plains of the Serengeti, amongst the Nyarboro Hills. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s most beloved National Park, famous throughout the world as being breathtakingly beautiful and rich with wildlife and recently proclaimed as one of the seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Sopa Lodge is nestled amongst all this beauty, allowing guests to be as close to nature as possible and experience the wilderness on safari, whilst enjoying excellent service, cuisine and luxurious lodgings. This is Big 5 country, and two game drives a day will allow for many opportunities to view cheetah, wildebeest, lion, elephant and rhino.
There are an abundance of activities offered at Sopa Lodge, and families are well catered for. Viewing the Serengeti from the air in a hot air balloon has to be on everyone’s bucket list, and is an experience that comes highly recommended.
Lodgings are of a world-class standard. 69 rooms are all elegantly decorated and boast two queen size beds, a lounge, mini-bar and a private veranda offering endless views of the Serengeti. There are also 4 double storey suites available at the lodge, with an upstairs bedroom, downstairs living area and a spacious veranda.
Dining is a treat, with the added benefit of exquisite views over the plains. Breakfast is fit for royalty, with freshly baked pastries still warm from the oven, fresh fruit, juices and lighter options, through to full English breakfasts with all the trimmings – all best enjoyed after the morning game drive. Lunch is equally as delicious, with evening dinners stealing the limelight.
Sopa Lodge caters for guests who have come to experience the majesty of the Serengeti, whether it be from a 4×4 on a game drive, or with a bird’s eye view from a helicopter. There are activities planned that are specifically geared towards children, including stargazing and informative walks with experienced guides.
Game drives head out in the late afternoons, affording guests the chance to spot some of the most beautiful creatures on earth out in their natural habitat. Evenings culminate in a sumptuous dinner underneath the clear African skies.
