andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge situated within the Lake Manyara National Park. Tucked away in the south side of the park, among a forest of mahogany, mango and fig trees the camp is far enough away from the busy entrance gate to be secluded and utterly relaxing. Offering a very high level of service and luxury, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge combines a sense of natural, earthy ambience and traditional styling with contemporary design. The lodge is made up of ten delightful tree houses that are elegantly furnished and radiate a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere.
The suites are all built on raised stilts and sit up among the bows of the ancient mahogany trees. Offering magnificent views of the forest canopy as well as the reserve beyond it really is a breath taking location. Each of the suites has an en-suite bathroom, private outdoor shower and viewing deck that gives guests a bird’s eye view of the plains below.
Guest areas include a large comfortable lounge with inviting sofas and an interesting collection of wildlife books and board games. The modern dining area includes an open plan kitchen where highly skilled chefs prepare your meals in front of you. A large boma is used for outdoor dining and barbecues. At night the old storm lanterns are lit and it becomes a beautiful place to enjoy an excellent meal under the vast African sky. There is also a refreshing swimming pool in which to cool off in between game drives.
Activities at Lake Manyara National Park include personalised interpretive privately guided safaris that are tailor made according to each guest. All game drives are taken in specially designed 4x4s. You can also explore the wilderness in the dark, with night game drives. The area is rich in birdlife and you can take a special birding safari with a specialist birding ranger, which is a memorable experience. Keep your eyes peeled for vast herds of elephant and buffalo, flamingos by the thousand, cheetah, impala olive baboons, Sykes monkeys, hippo and Masai giraffe, to name a few.
