Set in the southern region of the Central Seronera Valley in the Serengeti, Dunia Camp offers outstanding game viewing opportunities and luxurious accommodation in an intimate tented camp. Guests stay in one of eight authentic safari tents, which are all equipped with en suite bathrooms and private verandahs. The camp is the ideal choice for those who are serious about game viewing as it is located right along the route of the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra. The nearby Moru Koppies, granite outcrops nestled in the landscape, are used as predatory vantage points for a variety of big cats.

Classic simplicity is the benchmark at Dunia. The tent interiors are comfortable, but understated. Previous visitors have commented on a feeling of being ‘comfortably lost in the bush’. The guest tents all face the east, allowing visitors to watch the sunrise from the comfort of their beds. The private verandahs offer the perfect spot to laze in a canvas deckchair and watch the animals go by. Expect to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the animals in the surrounding bush.

The staff members at Dunia exude an exceptional air of warmth and suffice to say that the culinary offerings are nothing short of outstanding. Evening camp fires provide the ideal opportunity to share stories with other guests of animals spotted on the day’s game drives before moving on to dinner in the dining area overlooking the majestic Serengeti plains.

Activities on offer include game drives, offered twice a day, as well as hot-air balloon safaris, which start at dawn and offer a truly unique opportunity to have a bird’s eye view of the Serengeti. Balloon safaris end with a wonderful champagne breakfast after disembarking.

Dunia is very proud of its status as a carbon-neutral camp. Every effort is made to reduce waste and recycle, and fossil fuel emissions are offset by contributions, which are made to local forestry projects. The camp welcomes children over the age of six and is also well equipped for guests with physical disabilities. The closest airstrip is Seronera, situated one hour away.
