John’s Camp is a semi-permanent tented camp set right on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe. This remote and secluded camp is perfect to experience an authentic private safari surrounded by raw nature in this World Heritage Site, and in the care of Zimbabwe’s best local guides. Enjoy game drives, guided walking safaris, catch & release fishing expeditions and visits to a local village.
The camp accommodates just 12 guests in 6 double or twin Meru-style canvas tents. The tents, while basic, are very comfortable and are equipped with double fly sheets, double or twin beds, shaded seating areas to relax in, basins with running water and en-suite bathrooms with flush loos and safari-style bucket showers.
All the tents face the river and are spaced far enough apart to ensure privacy and maximise your enjoyment of the peace and quiet of the area. A sleep-out platform located off to the side of the main camp offers adventurous guests the chance to sleep out under the stars.
A central dining area is located among the tents and leads to a campfire overlooking the floodplain, where guests enjoy evening snacks and pre-dinner cocktails. Lunch times take place picnic-style in different locations in the park, overlooking one of the many pans, rivers or gullies, and dinners are served al fresco, under the starlit sky.
John’s Camp is the ideal choice for nature lovers looking to experience some of Africa’s best-guided safaris in a diverse, remote location recognized as a World Heritage Site. Mana Pools is one of the only national parks in the world that allows guests to embark on walking safaris within its confines.
