Lemala Nanyukie is a remote, luxury tented camp in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, with views over the vast plains that this reserve is famous for. Guided safari walks and drives are the main activities here along with birdwatching and photography. The Serengeti is a prime site to experience the Great Migration from November to December and is well- known for its high concentration of lions.

There are 15 luxurious guest tents at Nanyukie, including one 2-bedroom family tent. Décor is tasteful with textured finishes, leather upholstery and wooden furniture – however, the main feature of each room is the floor to ceiling windows which look out over the vast grasslands.

Oversized beds, private decks, outdoor showers and private plunge pools add to the luxury.  Each tented room also features many hotel-style amenities like hairdryers, minibars, and tea and coffee facilities – exactly what is expected on a luxury safari.

Shared central spaces include a lounge and bar, an outdoor viewing deck and an infinity pool. Meals are enjoyed indoors or out in the bush, while the campfire sets the scene for pre- and post-dinner drinks. The separate spa tent offers a selection of luxurious treatments. The camp is accessible only via 4×4 safari vehicle from a private airstrip, 35km away.

The best time to visit the Serengeti is in January and February to see the massive herds of wildebeest calving. June to September are great for general wildlife viewing and a chance to see the Mara or Grumeti River crossings.
