Mara Nyika is an intimate tented camp set among the grand thorn trees in the private Naboisho Conservancy, bordering the Masai Mara in Kenya. This ‘Out of Africa’ experience sleeps just 8 guests. Explore the conservancy full-day safaris and night drives with guided bush walks for birders. Cheetah, lion and elephant are frequently sighted and the camp is on the path of the annual wildebeest migration.
Mara Nyika comprises four luxury tents, surrounding a central lounge and dining area. Covered wooden walkways connect the sleeping quarters to the main camp. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a colonial expedition camp, with decor that includes natural wood, leather and plush carpets. Guests can enjoy delicious meals on a deck overlooking the river, or relax with drinks by the fire after a day of safari exploration.
Accommodation is opulent, yet welcoming and cosy, perfect for couples seeking romance, or families with children over the age of 8 years. Each wood and canvas tent is furnished with a king-size bed, comfortable chairs and Persian rugs, and includes an en suite bathroom and private deck. There is electricity and hot running water throughout the camp. Families with children can be accommodated in the larger 2 bedroom family suite.
Mara Nyika’s sheltered location overlooking a stream provides plenty of game viewing opportunities from the camp, as elephants pass by the water to drink. Naboisho Conservancy is a private 50 000-acre area that guests can explore on morning, afternoon and evening 4×4 game drives.
The camp is also well positioned for excursions into the Masai Mara Game Reserve. For an additional cost, guests can arrange a hot air balloon and experience a thrilling safari from the sky.
Impeccable service, privacy and an authentic yet luxurious atmosphere make Mara Nyika a special location for a memorable family vacation in Africa.
