Nestled in the shade of giant Natal mahogany trees on the banks of Zambia’s Manzi River, Kuyenda Bushcamp enjoys an impossibly romantic and unmistakably African setting. The camp is located in a quieter area of the park, away from the bustle of other camps, but is an excellent location for game viewing during its opening period of June to November; priding itself on the quality of its game drives over frills and fancies. With understated rustic grass thatched huts as accommodation, Kuyenda Bushcamp is the epitome of the traditional style African safari camp offering guests an authentic bush experience.Read More
The camp hosts endeavor to welcome their guests to this intimate hospitality and ensure they enjoy an unforgettable time at Kuyenda. Animals will often come directly to the camp allowing guests to watch the incredible sight of African wildlife from the camp itself.
The thatched huts are traditional rondavels, simple but comfortable and cozy. Each hut has paraffin lanterns, mosquito nets and an al fresco en suite bathroom with charming drum shower. There are three huts with twin beds and one king-sized, ensuring the camp never gets too large to lose its sense of intimacy.
Kuyenda’s main area continues this charmingly authentic safari feel with a thatched bar and open lounge area, perfect for relaxing after a long day, thumbing through the books in the library or watching the animals as they saunter past.
The camp enjoys a special feeling of camaraderie during meal times which are spent together around a large dining table after which guests will often convene around the campfire overlooking the plains and share stories of their travels or the day’s game drives.
Perhaps what sets Kuyenda apart from other camps is the passion and knowledge of the camp’s host, Phil Berry. An enthusiastic and incredibly insightful guide, Phil takes his guests on unforgettable walking safaris sharing local knowledge and stories along the way making for a unique experience every time. The camp also runs daily and nightly game drives.
Kuyenda enjoys some of the most diverse and beautiful landscape in South Luangwa ensuring a truly memorable vacation.
