Mara Expedition Tented Camp, in the north of the Masai Mara, offers Big 5 game viewing, comfort and luxury in an authentic African safari atmosphere. Close to its sister camp Mara Plains in the 35 000-acre Olare Motorogi Conservancy, Mara Expedition is well-positioned to experience both the annual Serengeti migration and the green season migration from Loita Plains. Enjoy game drives and horse-back safaris, birding and guided walks.

This Great Plains Conservation tented camp is small and private, with just five luxury tents pitched around a central communal area where guests can dine, socialize and relax. The wood and canvas tents are en-suite, with conveniences such as hot water, electricity and tea and coffee making facilities. Each tent includes rustic furnishings in wood, leather and other natural textures, and a private deck with views of the Ntiakitiak River.

A visit to Mara Expedition is fully inclusive of all wildlife viewing activities. Game drives led by experienced guides are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon. The area is well known for its local resident leopards’ and other big cats – lions and cheetah.

For an additional cost, guests can enjoy a thrilling hot air balloon safari, visit the local Masai communities and even go horseback riding.

The communal mess tent is a cosy area with a lounge, dining room and deck with views over the river. As with the private tents, the furnishings are comfortably luxurious and reminiscent of colonial expeditions. Meals are simple but delicious. Breakfast and lunch are typically served al fresco.

Mara Expedition guarantees exceptional service and a relaxing safari holiday in a luxurious setting. It is perfect for couples, or families with children over the age of 8 years.
