WE WERE JUST BLOWN AWAY BY CAPETOWN AND OUR SAFARI TRIP!

Dear Liesl,

We are so incredibly grateful to you for our fantastic trip! Both More Quarters and especially Lion Sands were spectacular, and we were just blown away both by Cape Town and by our safari experience. And you were right about everything!! The rental car worked out perfectly and we were struck by just how much it allowed us to see.

Your ears must have been burning while we were in South Africa, as we uttered the words “Liesl was SO right” or “Liesl knows her stuff” or “Another win for Liesl!” at least twice a day! I almost cried at having to head home and we cannot wait to plan our next trip to South Africa.

To give you some more details (not just gush): the transfer worked out perfectly on Friday night, and we were so grateful that you had thoughtfully come up with an ideal solution for us not to have to drive after 48 hrs in transit! Our first day was rainy and we were exhausted so we took it easier, but happened to be cutting back from Hout Bay in the afternoon as the clouds rolled off of table mountain for our first epic sunset, which was quite spectacular! We had been to the botanical gardens and explored Cape Town and the Waterfront a bit (admittedly, we should have explored Cape Town itself more….) We had dinner at Myoga at the suggestion of a friend which was spectacular!

The next day we did Robben Island first thing in the morning; we would have liked more time to explore the maximum security prison and needed far less time on the bus seeing the rest of the island…. Then we drove to Boschendal for our picnic which was AMAZING. It was just incredible; everything we wanted and then some. And then since it was later than we had planned we just drove around Franschhoek and Stellenbosch to get a sense of the towns and areas…we can not recommend the picnic at Boschendal enough!!

The next day we did Table Mountain in the morning and then drove down to Boulder Beach and down to the Cape of Good Hope – all of it was phenomenal and just stunning! We hit Chapman’s Peak on our way home at dusk, which was a tough drive but the EPIC sunset was worth it! It was just breathtaking! And then we had a lovely dinner at Kloof Street House (during a power outage actually! Very romantic!)

Then we went to Lion Sands; it was fantastic!  We saw all of the animals — and then some! Really, we cannot thank you enough! And will be sending everyone we can your way for the foreseeable future! It was such an awe-some experience, in every sense of the word!

Thank you SO much! It was so amazing! I cannot begin to tell you how floored we are by this trip!
