If you want to visit a place that is home to one of the biggest concentrations of African wildlife in the world, Rekero is the place for you! This luxury tented camp is located in the Masai Mara in Kenya, and belongs to the Beaton family which has a long history of conservation in the area, and they ensure that the Beaton legacy is upheld with aplomb and that all guests experience the Masai Mara at its very best. Situated on the scenic riverbanks where the Talek and Mara rivers join, this camp is perfectly positioned for the Great Migration!
The camp can accommodate only up to twenty guests to preserve the intimate atmosphere and is truly exclusive. Nine tents, including two family tents, are positioned in the peaceful shade of the massive trees on the riverbend.
Tents are luxurious and spacious, and are strategically designed and artfully decorated to create a pleasant fusion between traditional African style and a fresh contemporary feel. All tents boast en-suite bathrooms with showers and flush toilets, as well as their own private viewing decks that overlook the river. You can view game from the comfort of your day bed or just relax after a hot day of game viewing while being attended to by your personal butler.
The large canvas covered main guest area is large and surrounded by trees and lush lawn, and provides the ideal spot for superb dining and comfortable leisure time. Another viewing deck extends over the riverbanks and provides a perfect place for game viewing from the luxury of the camp.
The camp is an eco-camp, and is closed for a couple of months every year to allow the area to recover and to allow game to settle in the area, which ensures that there is always a good population of game. The superb Maasai safari guides and the friendly camp staff work closely together to provide guests with an authentic African Safari experience.
Activities centre mostly on game viewing activities and fine dining. Some places on earth are just utterly magical, and Rekero is one of them!
